Berwick upon Tweed History Society

Historical Berwick

Below you will find further information about the historical areas of Berwick upon Tweed and the surrounding area and references to work already carried out by other individuals, groups and organisations.

The History Society is not trying to recreate the excellent work already undertaken but the aim is to share this information under one area with people that the Society has had involvement with.

Please bear with us whilst this website is being developed. Thank you for your patience.

Derek Sharman provides guided walks around the town and he can be contacted at Explore-Northumberland. He has also produced an excellent Berwick Town Map detailing a summary of all the historical sites and a series of Local Self-guided Walking Trails

The Cittaslow Berwick upon Tweed map again provides a good summary of the historical buildings and features you encounter on a walk around Berwick. From the home page go to -> Take a look at our website -> then click on the Map and Town tour

A walk around the town leaflet has also been produced by the Civic Society and is available from many outlets including the Tourist Information Centre.

Here are some other sites providing details of walks in Berwick. No responsibility or liability is accepted for the content from these website, they provide some useful information and glorious pictures of Berwick.
